Driving Pod

I've been playing driving games off and on for quite awhile now (Live For Speed on the PC, GT3, V8 Supercars 2, WRC Evolved on the PS2) and I've always wanted a "proper" driving pod. About a year ago I bought myself a Logitech G25 wheel which IMHO is the best driving wheel you can get at the moment, and it's simply superb :)
Anyway, I finally pulled my finger out, bought a few bits and pieces from Bunnings, and put it all together over the past few weekends. It's even got a real car seat, on real car seat rails, so it's adjustable for tall and short people! Test drove it yesterday, it's so much better :) Unfortunately I'm also so much slower with the wheel than I am with the joypad, but it's still so much more fun :)
Oh Hai, Long Time No See!
And yet again, another month has come and gone. This year is just whizzing past at an alarming rate! So, what did the month of June (and the first few days of July) bring to Planet FookStar?

Well, for a start Haikal and I attended a rider training session organized by the Gold Coast City Council. As part of the GCCC's initiative to address motorcycle crashes and injuries, they've teamed up with HART to put together a one day course called the SMART Program. This course is heavily subsidized by the GCCC (it's only $45 for the day!), which I think is a superb initiative, WELL DONE to the GCCC!
So bright and early Haikal and I left the house and rode down to the Gold Coast. From there, we were given a short lecture and quiz to give us a run down of how the day would be run, and a few of the theories we should be, or become, familiar with. Then it was on our bikes, and off we went!
