Movember 2008
So I'm doing Movember this year. Not entirely sure why, but thought it would be a bit of fun, plus it's doing something for charity - assuming I manage to collect some donations :p
What is Movember, you ask? An excerpt from their website:
Men lack awareness about the very real health issues they face. There is an attitude that they have to be tough - "a real man" - and are reluctant to see a doctor about an illness or go for regular medical checks.
Movember aims to change these attitudes and make men's health fun by putting the Mo back on the face of fashion and in the process raise some serious funds for key men's health issues, including:
Prostate Cancer: because every year 2,900 Australian men die from prostate cancer and over 18,000 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer.
Depression in Men: because one in six men experience depression at any given time but most don't seek help.
Please donate to me, or visit My Mo-Space
I believe any donation above $2 is tax deductible (in Australia), and I think you can donate over the net too :)
Thanks!
Miyuki
Say Hello to Miyuki :)

For about as long as I can remember, I've adored dogs. I had several when I was a kid in Malaysia, but haven't had one in many many years, although I've always wanted one again. Well, on the 30th of last month (September), Martha and I made our way to the RSPCA, and adopted an 8 week old Bull Terrier cross Border Collie :)
We were torn as to what to call her, all I could think of were common girl names like Sally and common doggy names like Spotty. Martha wanted to call her Martha, and as much as I thought it would be funny, I knew it wouldn't be a good idea. Martha insisted on a name starting with M, and wanted a Japanese name (for what reason, I don't know). She thought up the name Miyaki, and I changed it to Miyuki, which I thought was easier to say, and sounded more feminine. According to Evan, Miyuki means:
Miyuki is a common Japanese female name which has several possible meanings.
* 美幸, meaning "beautiful fortune" or "beautiful happiness"
* 深雪, meaning "deep snow"
Back from the US of A

Hi everyone, I'M BAAAACK! Well, actually I've been back for just over 2 weeks now, but hey, I've been really overwhelmingly busy trying to catch up with life and all that since I've been back... Well, that's my excuse for being so slow in writing anyway :)
So yes, anyway, I'm back. And the US of A was great, and I think I got to see a fair bit of everything, although unfortunately nowhere near enough of any of it :( Some of the places I managed a taste of:
- Los Angeles CA
Stayed here the night on the way there, and passed back through on the way back. Unfortunately didn't get a chance to check out downtown LA (or really anywhere much further than a few blocks out of the airport) - Phoenix AZ
Actually, didn't see much of Phoenix at all apart from Nino's house and a rather nice restaurant... - Tombstone AZ
Where the famous gunfight happened, we visited the town itself and the graveyard. Pretty cool, there was even a grave marked "Foo Kee"
